This is a box of 50 rolls containing the new 2009 Lincoln KY Birthplace penny. We obtained these pennies from a local bank in KY. The box is not the String and Sons box seen in the photo but a plain cardboard box stating $25 Pennies. We carefully opened the box to verify content and that is all. Each roll contains 50 brilliant uncirculated 2009 Bicentennial Lincoln pennies from the Philadelphia mint. The obverse contains the familiar bust of President Lincoln and the reverse contains Lincoln’s birthplace in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

This is the first of two Lincoln cent sets we are offering in celebration of the Bi-Centennial of President Lincoln’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln penny! We have coupled the 1909 Lincoln Penny in VG to VF condition, with it’s 100 year counterpart the 2009 Lincoln Penny. This first year and potentially last year Lincoln penny is housed in an attractive hard plastic holder similar to those that US Mint uses for the Proof sets. We have limited quantities of these desirable American one cent coins. This is the perfect gift for the new coin collectors out there along with anyone else that recognizes the historic nature of the series.

From an original Hodgenville roll, we are offering a certified grade of Mint State 65 Red (MS66RD) by PCGS. This high grade is much more difficult to obtain! The holder clearly states this is the Lincoln Early Childhood cent. This is from the Philadelphia mint not the Denver mint which is producing twice as many cents as the Philadelphia mint so far this year. PCGS put the reverse on the front of the holder so there is no mistaking this is a first issue of the four 2009 Lincoln cents. Quantities are limited so act quickly.

The first year Lincoln cents, 1909 and 1909 VDB Wheat pennies are of Very Good to Very Fine circulated grades. The 1943 Steel penny and 1959 first Memorial are from original uncirculated bank rolls. The 2009 Lincoln penny is from a Hodgenville, KY roll we saved back for this set. All these are TYPE coins!
This set is truly a great item for a Lincoln penny fan as it covers all the different major changes in the Lincoln cent other than the composition change of 1982. Supplies are limited so get them while you can!
