We are excited to announce our two newest products put together in honor of President Lincoln’s 200th birthday and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent. What we have for sale and for your buying pleasure are a two coin and five coin sets!

First for the five coin set…we thought long and hard about what collectors would want for a set. Sure after it is all said and done the four new 2009 Lincoln penny sets in a nice holder will be a nice piece to display but we wanted to come up with something that would be a treasure for a coin collector. Therefore, we have compiled five type Lincoln pennies that best exemplifies the Lincoln cent series. We have taken the new Whitman five holed holder designed for the bi-centennial of Lincoln’s birth and for the four new releases and placed the following coins in them:

  • The 1909 VDB Lincoln Wheat penny in VG to VF – this was the first issue of the Lincoln cent which replaced the Indian head pennies after their 60 year run. This type coin is unique as it bears the initials of the designer, Victor David Brenner or VDB, on the reverse, the wheat side, of the cent at the bottom rim on it. These initials where removed the same year which spawned our next coin in this set…
  • The 1909 Lincoln Wheat penny in VG – VF – this is the design that continued for 50 years, also known as “wheaties” or “wheat penny” or “wheatbacks”.  During this era, a major composition change occurred during World War II as the need for copper for the war effort necessitated a change in the Lincoln cent production. This created our next type coin in this set…
  • The 1943 Lincoln Steel Wheat penny in UNC from an original bank roll – this is a one year type set, only 1943 cents were minted in steel composition. These unique cents where minted in all three mints and have a gray to silver appearrance based upon the condition. In 1944, the composition switched back to it’s familar circulating state. The Lincoln cent’s appearance remained unchanged until the time of our next penny in the set…
  • The 1959 Lincoln Memorial penny in BU from an original bank roll – this penny had a major change on the reverse. In celebration of  Lincoln’s 150th birthday and the 50th year of the Lincoln penny. This cent is the most visible coin in the US circulation and has remained unchanged with the exception of the composition change in 1982 and for the next coin in the set…
  • The 2009 Lincoln Birthplace penny from a BU Hodgenville, KY roll – we all know about this penny, it has been a point of interest for collectors since it’s release on 2/12/2009. Pulled directly from a roll and into the set, this beautiful design features Lincoln’s birthplace Log Cabin on the reverse and keeps with the unchanged Lincoln bust on the obverse which has not changed during the run of this series. Could this be the last year for the production of the Lincoln cent?

The next collector set we are proud to be able to offer, is a set containing a 1909 Lincoln penny and the 2009 Lincoln penny in an attractive two coin Mint Style Whitman holder. This set is the perfect way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Cent. Get yours today!

Hello. Do you have the 2009 Lincoln 4-penny holders? I just want the holders, not the pennies. Thanks
